A Million Little Jobs
A Million Little Jobs
2006

Once the walls were in place and screwed together, we had to anchor them with diagonal bracing to the roof of the building.

There were countless other things that needed to be done, and in order to make the project at all affordable we had to do most of the work ourselves.

The building had too many overhead garage doors, for example, so I closed off three of them with walls that had big insulated windows in order to bring in natural light.

Every studio also had to have lighting installed and electrical outlets and switches, as well as thermostat controls for the furnaces, and we had to replace several ancient furnaces and water heaters.
