This was the first photo-tactile painting I ever painted, as well as the first time I used our family photo album as the well I drew my subject matter from, which would prove to be essential to much of my work in the years to come. I was just trying to find a way to paint like I was drawing at the time, and to paint works that had something to do with my own experience, and it opened up a whole new avenue for me.
