At this point in my career, extremely short on cash, I came up with the idea that if I stood across the street from a house that looked like it might contain tasteful people with disposable income and painted a painting of it, that person might actually get curious and come over and see the painting, and might even buy it. This worked exactly half of the time, but not in this case.
